Cleveland Author Event 2016!

So I've got a lot to catch up on, from what I have been reading to the adventures of the last weekend in June when I dragged the Mister to attend the Cleveland Author Event.

#CAE16 was freaking awesome!! Not only was it a weekend away with the hubby, doing what we wanted when we wanted without the parenting responsibilities.  But I also got to meet some of the amazing authors I have read!  This was my first ever book signing event, and holy shit!!! I'll try not to scatter my thoughts on this too much so you can keep up.

To attend we had to drive 9 hours!!! We left at midnight, (No turning into a pumpkin for us) and arrived very early to Cleveland!  Thank god we missed all the freaking rush hour traffic by getting there so early.  We were able to check in early!! Normal people who have been up since midnight would choose to take a nap right?!? Nope, I had the bright idea to walk down to the lake and visit the USS COD.
This is the view we were greeted with! Me, sleep deprived, didn't realize it was still 830ish in the AM and that nothing really opened up touristy wise until 10ish.  Pretty sight to see though!! I'm weird, I know, I love reading and exploring historical sights or things such as this submarine.  But anywho.  So then we wandered round and round, my feet were screaming at me!!

After a subway ride (NEVER AGAIN in downtown Cleveland) we headed to the famous market for crepes.  I chose sweet over savory, this is Nutella with bananas.... YUM!  Hubby got savory, something with bacon and healthy crap.... not as yum for me.

After another exciting (scaryish) subway ride, we walked some more! (My feet were very angry with me) and we finally visited the USS COD........ small spaces, in a sub, OMG.

I got a message from one of top favs ever, LM Carr, that she was going for a walk after making it to the hotel.  So we met up with her, trying to keep the fangirling down to a minimum, I tried to get it out of my system on my walk, I got to meet her while appearing as cool as a cucumber.  HA! We hung out ( how many readers get to really say they hung out with their favorite author?????) chased down some K LOVE, and had a drink.  She had authory things to do and my hubby wanted some nap time.

Later that night......
We saw BT Urrella ( I always mess up his last name), Cassia Brightmore ( For someone who writes so dark and twisted, she is extremely sweet.  Plus I embarrassed myself and spilt some of her drink on her while I was talking with my hands.), and River Savage (love her accent).  My husband got selfies with everyone lol but the selfie that I was "surprised" with the most, the one that I was like holy shit, was the one he sent me when he went outside to smoke.  I was sitting there minding my own business and get a picture message.
Right to Left: Dylan Horsch, My hubby, Lance Jones, and I believe Victoria Ashley's man.

I immediately recognized Lance Jones, so I sent back holy shit you just got a selfie with Lance Jones.  He replies, well technically with male models. HOLY SHIT!!

Had dinner at Pizza (216) both nights, absolutely amazing freaking pizza!! When we go back for CAE 2017, we will definitely be coming here again!!

Then the signing, getting to meet new to me authors, authors I've read, authors I have chatted with randomly on line and getting to see LM Carr in action!!

Me, LM Carr, and her awesome PA Karrie.  I have so many pictures and not enough space on this to post them all.  Let's just say some surprised me, the lines, the amazingness of Helena Hunting who signed in another room after the even because she still had a line.

For giveaways, Jenn Hype donated a book.  As did Skye Callahan!!  I have a couple of totes signed by authors, River Savage, Cassia Brightmore, and 2 by Helena Hunting!! Along with countless swag!!  Now the question is will there be enough interaction on the blog to give this away???
